Why train at Vancouver Hockey School?
Vancouver Hockey School’s outstanding reputation as a Hockey School in BC stems from its quality of instruction. Our Academy and Zone programs provide like minded players with a new voice and innovative development model heading into the off season. It is Vancouver Hockey School’s mandate to provide the highest level of hockey instruction to all participants.
Academy Camps
Academy programs are open to CSSHL and BC Zone players. Sessions focus on skating, skills, and high tempo compete and flow drills. The Academy program provides players with a new coaching voice and compliments each athletes off-ice training program. Over 50 WHL draft picks have skated in this program in the past 10 years. Open to 18 skaters and 2 goalies.
Players must have completed 1 full season (2021/2022) of CSSHL or Zone hockey.
Skating topics include:
- First step explosiveness
- Advanced edge work and turns
- Speed with the puck
- Stride length and power
Skills topics include:
- Special fakes
- Shot selection: wrist, snap, backhand
- Passing and puck protection
- Offensive tactics and dekes
