Why train at Vancouver Hockey School?
Vancouver Hockey School’s outstanding reputation stems from its quality of instruction. Our Academy Camps provide players with a new voice outside of their academy and zone team environment. Our professional coaching staff have over 15 years of experience leading CSSHL and BCEHL Zone on-ice skill programs.
Academy / Zone Camps
Open to players currently in the CSSHL and BCEHL development stream. Sessions include: skating, passing, shooting, situational drills, and inter-squad game play. Students must be committed to CSSHL or BCEHL programs in 2024-2025 to qualify. Current A1 Flight 1 players may apply. No exceptions.
Skating topics include:
- First step explosiveness
- Effective turns with the puck
- Body positioning
- Advanced pivots
- Puck control with speed
- Battle and Compete
Skills topics include:
- Short, long, and wide dribble
- Correct hand position
- Waves and cutbacks
- Passing techniques
- Shooting technique
- Special fakes and dekes
