VHS’ power skating program is structured to enhance and improve a players overall skating ability in a limited amount of time. Through effective drill progression and instructor demonstration, the program is geared towards teaching game simulated hockey skating. Session drills focus on tying skating mechanics into game situations. Students are taught when and where to use certain skating techniques within the game.

- Angle of inclination
- Stride efficiency
- Explosive starts
- Counter balancing
- Effective arm swing
- Explosiveness with and without the puck
- Net drives and puck protection
